CYCLE TRAINING & BICYCLE MAINTENANCE:

At Hub + Spoke we don\’t just want people to get cycling, we want them to stay cycling too – for the long haul. However, we understand that not having the confidence to ride safely on or off-road, or not having the experience to undertake basic bicycle maintenance such as repairing a puncture, can be a barrier to people adopting cycling as a long term lifestyle change. That\’s why we offer a variety of training courses and sessions covering both subjects.

APPRENTICESHIPS

We also believe strongly in investing in the young people in our local communities. That is why that since opening the doors in 2011 Hub + Spoke has offered an apprenticeship in bicycle mechanics. Two apprentices have now successfully completed this scheme, and soon we will be looking to recruit our next candidate.

CTC CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

We are currently working towards becoming a CTC Centre of Excellence. The Cycle touring Club (CTC) is one of the nations leading cycling charities that has been in existence for over 130 years championing the cause of existing cyclists, and would be cyclists. As a CTC centre of excellence we will be able to offer an even broader range of training courses to the public, and also to our staff and volunteers, so watch this space for more news!
