We believe that people and the environment matter.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Our mission is to help inspire local people to improve their quality of life and choose a healthier, greener, and more affordable lifestyle through the bicycle and cycling.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

OUR AIMS:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>

improving health and well-being –\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>by providing regular led bicycle and cycling activities in a safe, sociable, and supported environment;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>

providing training and education – <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>through cycle training, maintenance courses, workshops, and other activities;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>

protecting the environment – <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>through the promotion of cycling as a sustainable form of transport, and through recycling used bicycles and parts.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>

OUR HISTORY<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Hub + Spoke first opened its doors in May 2011. Established in partnership with Essex County Council and Harlow District Council.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Hub + Spoke was set up to promote cycling in and around Harlow, and deliver cycle training and education to the local community.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Since April 2017 we have not been funded by Essex County Council<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

A FEW OF OUR\u00a0ACHIEVEMENTS SINCE MAY 2011\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Over 1,000\u00a0led rides in and around Harlow, with participation by people all ages and abilities;<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

More than 500\u00a0bicycles recycled and resold back into the community as low cost transport;\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

400\u00a0adults and children trained in basic bicycle maintenance;<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

2\u00a0apprentice bicycle mechanics fully trained;<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

60\u00a0local volunteers trained as ride leaders, or\u00a0in other organisational roles;<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

1,000’s of local bicycles repaired and maintained.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
